Perhaps an indication of the progress enjoyed as a consequence of the burgeoning economy is the rapid improvement in telecommunications with the entry of Digicel as a second mobile network provider.

This has in turn motivated its rival Telecom Vanuatu Ltd to commit further major capital expenditure on its own network.

Another indication that the economy continues to grow in strength is the burgeoning number of new larger investors moving into permanent locations in Vanuatu.  Bred Bank and W.R. Carpenter are two such players who have committed to large permanent investments to Vanuatu in the last 5 years.
